As we have mentioned through the week, today’s WOD is part of a benefit for a member of the NE CrossFit family.  You can read the above about Eric Goosbly.  We support any effort folks make to help their own.  As stated before, you don’t have to donate (doing this WOD in honor of him and other cancer survivors is contribution already) but we will have a bucket out in case you feel compelled to help the cause.  This is one of the best things about the CrossFit community.  It’s not about who is best, but about family.

Now, normally I won’t post WODs more than a day in advance, but I want to get word out for as many as possible for this Saturday.  CrossFit Elkhorn is running a fundraiser for one of their own (see poster for details).  We reached out to them and will run a satellite version of the WOD “Eric” on Saturday.  Now, donations are NOT required, but if you find it in your heart to donate, we will have a collection bucket during the WOD, and will take whatever is raised out to Elkhorn the following week.  These are some of the great things about the CrossFit Community.  We don’t only work out and push each other, we do what we can to help those in need.  Hope to see you there…

Thanks again to Team Red, White and Blue for joining us for the WOD For Warriors 21 Guns workout!

.

“Murph”

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on it will be referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

.

WOD:

 “Murph”

For Time

Run 1 Mile

100 Pull Ups

200 Push Ups

300 Air Squats

Run 1 Mile

For those worried about the workload, we will allow folks to team up to tackle it as a team.
